require sth. of sb. 对某人有... 的要求
require sb. to do sth. 要求某人做某事，根据一定的规章而要求
response n. 回答, 响应, 反应
解析：call forth no response in sb's breast 在某人心中不起反应

【辨析】answer 指针对另一行为的回应，因而介词用to，如：the answer to the question
